Inspect, test and maintain non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems

The Inspect, test and maintain non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems course is designed to assist employees in understanding the legislation, guidelines, manufacturer and industry requirements needed to competently undertake servicing and/or maintenance tasks on non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems; support fire protection technicians responsible for inspecting, testing and maintaining non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems. It also includes repairing and servicing internal components, recharging or refilling fire-suppression systems.

The following unit of competency is delivered by PWR RTO 45431. Successful completion of this course will provide a statement of attainment in the following unit(s) of competency:
  • CPPFES2027A Inspect, test and maintain non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems

The program has been developed to cater for corporate group bookings for the needs of those who are existing workers in the field and who require certification for the skills and knowledge gained as part of their role.

This qualification applies to fire suppression technicians responsible for non-trade installation and regular servicing of non-gaseous pre-engineered fire-suppression systems.

Course Delivery:
This course is designed for existing workers in the field and delivered by a fully qualified industry professional using a blended learning method of theory and practical demonstrations and assessments.
Duration: One (1) day face to face workshop totalling 10 hours of learning. Students manager is also required to rate the student's skills and knowledge from the workplace in a pre-existing skills validation.

Location: Site or at the PWR Training Facility (Bassendean WA)
Pre-requisites:  No individual public enrolments are taken for this course

Student requirements: Participants must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age 
  • Supply their USI number on enrolment
  • Have sufficient English language, literacy and numeracy skills to read instructions and write assessments
  • Wear or bring; Cotton drill (long sleeve, long pants workwear), Safety boots
  • Bring a pen and notebook
  • Bring photographic ID, e.g. driver's licence
  • Be physically fit and able to carry at least 20 kgs of weight
